Hawthorne communicates this theme by showing what’s the deference between good or bad person in this story. Young Goodman Brown walks away and leaves the leaders of government and the church with the devil in the forests. Young Goodman Brown turns and sees his beloved wife in the forest with the government and the church and the devil. Brown’s didn’t have faith in his wife because she’s been lying to him all along and Young Goodman Brown leaves his beloved wife faith in the forest with the government and including the church.
